Built in 1873 to be the home of the Acton Civill Polytechnic Institute in Coeymans, NY. That private school never opened and in 1874 the building served as a public school, the town offices/civic center, later a total of 28 modern senior apartments were converted from the structure’s classrooms, attic and gymnasium. Special consideration was taken due to the historic nature of the 2.6 acre site, including the presence of a War Memorial that remains on the grounds.
